before placing your ad

Classified ads are not accepted by phone. Classified ads can be submitted by using our secure form below or in person at our office.

Real Estate “for sale” ads may not be placed in the general classifieds. The POST has a separate real estate section. You can find more details here or email [email protected] or call us on 08 9381 3088. The Real Estate section offers the option of including logos, photos and permits some styling and layout in ads.

Information requirements

  • At minimum, we require that you provide your name, a contact number in the Personal section (Step 1) and then information about your ad (Step 2).
  • Information provided in Step 1 of the form will be used only to help process your ad. If you require a contact number to be published in the ad, be sure to include it in the “Ad text” field as well.
  • Fields marked “Optional” e.g. “email address” – need only be filled in if that information will be needed, for example to send you a receipt by email.

Choosing a Start Date

If you want your ad to start its run later than the next edition, you need to specify the date of the Saturday on which the edition is delivered in the “Start Date” field. Otherwise leave the Start Date field blank so that the ad starts in the next edition. Please make sure that the date is in Australian date format, ie dd/mm/yy.

Completing your ad submission

  • Make sure to choose a “Classification” from the drop-down menu options. 
  • When you have entered all the required details, click the “Submit” button at the bottom of the form. Your form entries will be checked and you will be informed if you have forgotten to fill out a required field. If the form is OK, a page is displayed where you can check the text of the ad, view the price, and enter your credit card details so that we can process payment. Please ensure you check your ad details thoroughly – it may not be possible to change it later.
  • When you have finished filling in the credit details and have checked the ad preview, press the “Accept” button. The ad will be placed, and you will be given an ad number that you should keep until your ad has been run and payment has been processed

Like to submit multiple ads?

The form below accepts only one ad per submission. Submissions with multiple ads will be discarded. If you need to submit a lot of ads and don’t want to use this form multiple times, please email us ad text and then call us to supply payment details. This form is not clever enough to figure out when multiple ads are being submitted, and will accept the ad, but it will be rejected when it is checked later. If you have any difficulties, email [email protected]

Classified ad prices are calculated according to the following rules:

Ads are charged at $5.00 for the first two lines, and $2.00 for each line (up to 4 words) thereafter. Prices include GST.

A line is counted as 4 words, where a word is one or more characters and is separated by spaces. Please note that “a”, “I”, “-“, etc do count as words. An email address or web address counts as a whole line.

Classified ads must be submitted by 10:00 AM on the Thursday of the week of publication of the desired edition. For example, if you wanted your advert to appear in the Saturday 30 June edition, you would need to submit your ad by 10:00 AM on Thursday 28 June.

The form will not allow adverts to be placed after the deadline. If you don’t enter any information about what edition you want your ad to run in, it will be placed in the earliest available edition.

YOUR FIRST ADVERT MUST BE PAID IN FULL AT TIME OF BOOKING.

All accounts for subsequent ads are strictly seven (7) days and subject to a late payment fee at the Prescribed Interest Rate. 

We accept MasterCard, VISA card, or Australian BankCard for payment. Other card types will not be accepted. PayPal/Stripe will automatically send a receipt to the email used when the payment is made.

When completing the form, if you are told your credit card number is invalid or the wrong type, check that you typed it correctly and that you selected the right entry in the Card Type menu. If it is definitely correct please email  [email protected] and we’ll have a look for you.

Our ad submission system uses secure, encrypted connection (HTTPS) and has been designed so no information can be intercepted and read, therefore keeping your personal details safe. The payment system also uses Stripe which will keep your payment details safe and protect you from fraud. To read about how Stripe can protect you, read here.
