Why ads in the POST work

The POST is an essential part of life in Perth’s western suburbs. It is delivered each Friday to all homes and businesses in Perth’s most up-market suburbs.

Founded in 1977 by the current owner and editor, Bret Christian, it is built on a strong tradition of quality journalism. POST Newspapers’ greatest strength over 45 years has been consistently high quality, prize-winning news coverage, often followed up by other media. See our growing list of journalism awards.

The POST publishes accurate, relevant news that affects readers where they live. As a result, each issue of the paper is read thoroughly by an extremely high proportion of the population.

It’s great being part of the POST and we all love it but at the end of the day, we’re in business and we have to make a profit. And one of the things we’ve always felt about the POST is that we’ve got a great return on our investment, with the advertising space we use in the paper each week.

I consider the POST an essential part of my marketing toolbag, mostly because of the high level of readership it gets. I can really assure my clients that every single person that is looking for a home in the western suburbs knows that their home is for sale.

The POST:
the ‘people’s paper’

Residents of Perth’s western suburbs, POST territory, enjoy the highest incomes in Western Australia, concentrated on the river and beach-side suburbs between the capital city and the Indian Ocean.

Perth’s highest proportion of University-educated professionals and managers and their families look forward to the POST each week. It’s also a magnet for high value real estate promotion both in the western suburbs and beyond.

They frequently say “Everybody reads the POST”. This is not a company slogan, it’s a reflection of the local sense of reader ownership. The POST is our paper, they say.

Research backs this up. In the latest readership survey conducted by AMI (Australian Market Intelligence) the results showed that thousands of residents do not read any other suburban newspaper.

With the western suburbs' highest readership and largest distribution, more people see more ads in the POST.

POST territory: where your ad will be seen

In addition to our online audience of thousands of subscribers in the western suburbs and beyond, the POST is delivered FREE to all households and businesses in the western suburbs, plus bulk drops in other selected riverside and city areas. Here’s where we go every week:

Advertising with the POST enables me to get my advert into people’s homes. People like a little bit of local gossip, so it gets my ad to them, it works for me and I feel for us and our market, advertising in the POST works a lot better than social media.
